No charge evaluation and consultation

If you own property that is or may be subject to a condemnation action and you have questions about the eminent domain process, or if you would like us to review and discuss an offer you have received from the government, please give us a call at 630-369-6616 or send us a message.

Fees & Costs

We will gladly represent property owners on any case in return for an hourly fee for our legal services. However, many times the nature of the case does not lend itself to hourly fee representations, and in such cases we are often times hired on a contingent fee basis. When we utilize a contingent fee arrangement, the law firm assumes the risk for earning a fee. We only receive payment if you recover more money for the acquisition of your property than the offer you received from the government. In that event, our standard fee equals one-third (33%) of the additional money recovered by the property owner.

In all instances, the client is responsible for all costs of the litigation, such as filing fees, court reporter fees and the costs associated with retaining the necessary expert witnesses. Generally, every case will require an appraiser. Depending upon the case, there may be a need for additional expert witnesses, such as an engineer, a land planner or other individuals with unique expert knowledge that may be required in certain types of cases. However, many cases can be successfully litigated and resolved with only the use of an appraiser.
